Prof. Rune T. By's New Year Statement

If you have an interest in organisational change and leadership you may be interested in Rune’s 2019 New Year’s resolution as published in Journal of Change Management (his 2020 editorial will be made available in March).

In this annual editorial he highlights the need to further research the essence of organisational change and leadership, visits the importance of purpose, and introduces the EPICally MAD leadership philosophy. Rune emphasises the importance of both practitioners and academics having a great responsibility to be MAD – to Make A Difference – suggesting this can be facilitated through focusing on the EPIC principles of Energy, Purpose, Identity and Courage. Our MADness can be further enhanced through ensuring our research, practices and opinions contribute to the development of society and the organisations within it.
